FLAMENCO
PORTRAIT OF ORANGE PARROT TULIP
The parrot tulip is the most flamboyant and colourful of all tulips with curled and ruffled petals. Tulips were first cultivated in the Ottoman Empire (now Turkey) before being exported to the Netherlands in the 16th century where their popularity fuelled a futures craze that ended badly for investors and the economy in general.
In this example, the large ruffled petals laced with orange and red make no attempt to disguise the subject’s passionate and fiery character.
Flamenco is available as a matt-finished limited edition print on fine art paper. You may purchase your image below or first order a swatch - see the page headed INFORMATION. Please feel free to get in touch with me via the CONTACT page if you have any further questions.
